Job Summary:


The Head – Admissions will be responsible for planning, managing, and driving the institution’s overall admissions activities. The role involves developing and implementing effective admission strategies, leading the admissions team, coordinating student enquiries and counselling, strengthening outreach initiatives, and ensuring achievement of admission targets while maintaining professional standards and a positive student experience.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective admission strategies and plans for various academic programmes offered by the institution.
  • Lead, supervise, and monitor the performance of the Admissions Team to ensure achievement of institutional admission targets.
  • Establish and monitor programme-wise and intake-wise admission targets in coordination with Management.
  • Manage the complete admission process from enquiry generation, counselling, follow-up, application, documentation, and final enrolment.
  • Handle and monitor prospective student enquiries through telephone, walk-ins, digital channels, education fairs, school/college visits, and other outreach activities.
  • Ensure timely and professional student and parent counselling regarding programmes, eligibility, admission procedures, fee structure, facilities, career opportunities, and institutional policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, schools, colleges, educational consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate admission campaigns, career counselling programmes, educational fairs, seminars, open houses, school visits, and promotional activities.
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Academic, Finance, and Administration Departments to ensure smooth coordination of the admission process.
  • Monitor admission enquiries, applications, conversions, and enrolments through appropriate MIS/CRM/ERP systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and submit regular admission reports, MIS reports, conversion reports, and target achievement reports to Management.
  • Analyse admission trends, student preferences, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improving enrolment.
  • Ensure that all admission activities are carried out in accordance with institutional policies, applicable regulations, and approved admission procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure accuracy of student admission records.
  • Address and resolve admission-related queries and concerns raised by students and parents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Train and guide the admissions team on counselling techniques, communication, programme information, follow-up procedures, and conversion strategies.
  • Monitor daily activities and performance of admission executives and provide appropriate guidance and corrective measures wherever required.
  • Coordinate with the concerned departments for student onboarding, document verification, fee payment, and commencement of academic activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and institutional data.
  • Undertake other admission-related responsibilities and assignments entrusted by the Management from time to time.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, Marketing, Education, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in admissions, student recruitment, education marketing, counselling, or a similar role, preferably in a higher-education institution.
  • Prior experience in leading an admissions team and achieving enrolment targets will be preferred.
